The African Union has a vision and a mission

A vision to see to an integrated, prosperous And peaceful Africa, driven by its own 

citizens and representing a dynamic Force in global arena.

A mission to see to an efficient and value-adding institution driving the African integration and development process in close collaboration with African Union member states, the Regional Economic Communities and African citizens.

The major question at hand will be: Has the AU achieved its goals??? 

If Yes, It implies the need for the union.

If No, then do we actually need such a union??
